Google Glass, a wearable headset that displays a computer interface in your field of vision, has been welcomed by techies everywhere as a potentially revolutionary product. Through an amazing technological accomplishment, a contact lenses that works like the Google Glass is in the early stages of creation. It appears as though Samsung will take on the project along with a group of researchers.
The impact these products may have in the medical industry could be extraordinary. Take for example, a surgeon who is able to live stream to residents and students a surgery–so that they can see what work goes into a medical procedure first hand. Or, for instance, any healthcare professional could walk up to a patient’s bed and instantly see all their vitals such as pulse, BP, O2 and Sats, not to mention instantly scan through EHR.
